I need some advice on how to find a banking/credit union job with personal bad credit. My wife hasn't been able to work for the last few years due to depression and arthritis, so we have been struggling. I have been a a Commercial Credit Analyst for the last five years at a great credit union, but I need to make more money to support my family. I was also a Commercial Loan Broker for six years prior to being a credit analyst and I have over 20 years in banking, plus an MBA.

Can anyone help?

Signed the offer with a competitor, but multiple bosses tried to persuade me to stay with the planned growth opportunities in sight. Still decided to leave, and got "wishing you all the best". Guilty much, I love working with the team, but just want to get better progression and pay.

Typical English firm salaries in London are about 70% Cravath (unless you're at one of the US firms that benchmarks to Cravath scale offices). 2PQE is around 165k USD + 30k bonus assuming 1800 billables. So comparing at a firm where you roughly bill 1900-2000 a year, you lose out, but if you bill 2200+, that's comparable?

Thinking aloud here - if you can find that 2000-billing firm, no sense staying in that payscale unless you have a shot at equity?

How much stock do you put on benefits? I have two offers with stark differences in benefits. Job 1: role I want, but benefit sucks (2 weeks paternity leave, 20% coinsurance). Job 2: role is okay but higher level and great benefits (16 weeks paternity, 0% coinsurance, 5 more days of vacation). Total comp is the same though. I wonder if I should just focus on role but Job 2 is a large company, so I can move around after 2-3 years I’d expect. Thoughts?

Fellow underwriters what do you do for VOI on OTR Truck Drivers who have not filed a tax return and can only provide a recent 1099 or earnings statement. My institution does not use 1099 as historically this income is before expenses. Our traditional practice is tax returns but we have seen a large uptick in people transitioning into this line of work who don’t have a TR yet. I was thinking institute the practice of taking RMA’s EBIDA% based on the 1099/earning statement? Any other thoughts?
