Honestly regardless of why I left (I left my last job due to issues with my manager) I always just say I enjoyed the work I did but am looking to learn and grow more (add new skills, get more experience within certain therapeutic areas, etc.). This may be different for you because you’ve already left your job, but I’ve just noticed hiring managers like people who are looking to improve their abilities and not stay stagnant. Or even saying something like you’re looking for a more teamwork based environment. I personally like to frame it in a way where I don’t blame my previous company, but allude to the type of place I’d prefer to work at if that makes sense

I would leave out any reference to the job you left and just indicate that you left because you needed the time to find a new opportunity and did not feel you could do that while employed full time... I assume that is probably true... that you would not have had the time to focus on a job search there.
