I reached the final stages of interviewing for two different attorney roles within the same agency. I was told I would hear back about next steps at the end of last week or early this week. So far, it’s been silence. Should I be worried, or is this just typical government being slow?

There is an opportunity that I’m currently interviewing for that is very interesting to me. I’m interviewing two other places but I’m not responding to LinkedIn emails for other positions. The other positions don’t interest me as much. On one hand I don’t want to waste time prepping for all positions and rather put that time only for the ones that I have going on, on the other hand I feel like what is that falls through. How do I determine the likelihood of getting a Top Secret Security clearance? I am qualified for a number of federal jobs but haven’t applied because of an allegation of misconduct at my job five years ago. I have plenty of positive equities since then and evidence of rehabilitation for admission to the bar. I just have no idea how much forgiveness is possible in a TS security clearance.

Has anyone signed a contract to work for X amount of years with the government and then broken that contract? Are there repercussions?
