We definitely need more info to help you. But if you think you should quit, I would start looking.
OP, how has your workload changed since this new person came on board?
You need to set boundaries with your attorneys and co-workers. A lot of attorneys will ask you to do work that either they don’t know is outside of your scope and responsibilities or they do know and they just need you to do it. Either way you need to let that attorney know that it’s not something that you can handle right now due to your current workload, but as soon as this new person takes on her own responsibilities in two weeks, then you’ll be able to start taking on more projects and tasks outside your scope, hopefully.
I had like 138 cases and altogether paralegals had 34 or so at one of the firms I worked at and it was just so sucking to try and get anything done or to even get caught up and nobody really cares what you have on your plate because they have an enormous amount on their plate.
