So more of a Senior IC role then a people manager. I mean it’s a good first step and then next move would be to take on a people leader role and grow towards a SD/VP level.

Ehhh they are usually pretty strict. Maybe Year 1 they can give you some additional days. I know you can buy some extra PTO days at this big payers.
OP - Do you mind sharing what the offer is?
Just shy of $140k, no direct reports, level E13. I have about 2 YOE, MBA (not a top b-school), and a clinical doctorate that is very relevant to the role. I practiced for about 3 months after graduating and then left for consulting. I didn’t expect to leave consulting so soon, but feel like the director title will be more helpful in moving my career forward than hopefully getting promoted to consulting manager. All advice welcome!!
Technically E15 onwards is director and at par with M14/M15. I was with them as E14 and they say its at director level but E14 is more of individual contributor. I was on tech side and my designation was Sr. Solutions Engineer
Yes that’s my plan. If I realize I want to return to consulting, my hope is that I’d get a better offer having been a director with industry experience.... it seems like this could help accelerate my career whether I stay in industry or decide to go back to consulting. But I’m not sure if that’s too idealistic.

No that’s a good idea. Director would usually come in as a SM at most firms.
@A1 yes I’d be an IC. There was a SM role too but I made it clear I won’t leave for less than D. Plus, the SM pay was too low.
At Anthem as a Tech PM at E13. This sounds about right. You should be good
