I recently encountered a hiring process that used a Turing style test to evaluate candidates. I answered the questions correctly, yet the feedback suggested I did not meet the overall requirements for the role. It made me wonder how much weight these assessments carry compared to experience or context. If the answers are right, what else determines whether a candidate is truly a fit?

Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?
