I saw an interesting article suggesting that GenZ might be the first generation to not be smarter than the previous generation due to all their exposure to devices. I find it half true. In my experience, GenZ can be super smart and innovative. And in other things, like very basic things, they are completely clueless. What do you think about GenZ?

I’m always skeptical of those “this generation is less smart” takes. Intelligence just shows up differently depending on the environment people grew up in. Gen Z grew up fully digital, so their strengths and gaps are going to look different, not necessarily better or worse. A lot of what gets labeled as cluelessness sometimes just feels like inexperience or different priorities to me.

What’s your issue with Gen Z?!?
Sometimes I wish millennials and Gen X would get with the times and learn how to use technology instead of staying in the ancient times 🤣
All jokes aside, you can’t generalise a whole generation. I was born in 2001 and didn’t grow up with a mobile phone when I was younger to Google everything.
We had a home computer that had limited time on it. I only started to really see technology as a benefit it secondary school, in 2012.
Later Gen Z would have a very different experience!

From what I’ve seen, some Gen Z employees can come across as entitled and a bit lazy. It could just be the ones we’ve hired, but we haven’t had a great experience — it sometimes seems like they want to be paid without doing much work.

like

Tbh I think a lot of Gen Z are just realising that life shouldn’t be to work 60 hour weeks for an awful wage.
Personally for me, I am in the process of starting up my own company and I give my job practically the bare minimum as that’s what I’m paid, and then give my effort on the side to my business

I think it’s hard to generalize about a whole generation.

Hello all, i have. A question regarding compensation for a lateral move. I just received a job offer for an UA position from a competing cyber insurance carrier for $70,000 + bonuses. This job will be based out of San Francisco. I currently make $30/hour for the same role in Chicago, after OT it’s about $60,000. Do you think it would be wise to accept the offer? Thoughts in general?

I’m an MS Management Student graduating in June 2023. I applied to over 40 positions within the Big 4/MBB and even with extensive networking, I haven’t heard back from any really. I have an offer from a pretty well-known but less prestigious Consulting Firm, but I’m wondering what my chances even are of going Big 4/MBB if I’m not a campus hire. Will they even consider me for an experienced hire a year or two down the road if they showed no interest this time? Any advice welcome!

New to Toronto, moved to the west end of town/ just past - in Etobicoke. I celebrate my 40th a few days after NYE/NYD - would love some recommendations on moderately priced but nice ambiance restaurants for myself + husband, and my extended family. Everyone is scattered throughout (Hamilton, Barrie, Lyle, Newmarket, North York). Don’t want anything too fancy but don’t really know where or what is good and not downtown.

Any recommendations? (Open to GTA of course).

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.
