Senior engineer making 135k and I was offered a promotion to engineering manager after completing a development plan. Near the end of the plan and I expect compensation talks to start soon. Based on some research around Boston and my role in the company, I feel 165k plus 10-15% bonus is fair. Nonetheless, first time going through something like this and asking for thoughts and comments. This has been my hardest year yet. Morale is rock bottom throughout. I am feeling the burn out coming fast. Any suggestions for getting a new attitude or outlook to want to come back next year?

My doctor had me take a week off because of the chronic stress and borderline panic my situation at work is causing.

In many ways, I feel recharged, confident...and more ready than ever to quit. :(

I’m exhausted.. Beyond stressed and feeling like I’m not doing good enough for admin. My mental health has been in the tank this year. honestly no one on campus is available to help or listen

I am on a stress leave. Every time I look at emails from work, the less encouraged I am to return. It is so overwhelming! I want to finish out the year, but will definitely not be making it back next year. So many things have changed, and next year there will be all kinds of change and turmoil. I am sad to be leaving on such a low note. I always envisioned retiring at the top of my game, having a party...etc...

This week’s topic in our staff meetings is trauma and understanding the behavior of our students. Anyone else can’t help but take it personal when students lash out? 🙋🏻‍♀️

First year teacher who has gotten PTSD from one student. 2 concussions, multiple scratches, bruises etc. I can’t help but feel burnt out and it’s not even my second semester...

We talk about not being paid enough, but now I see that 16 years and a masters degree has caused my salary to be higher than any entry-level job will pay someone with no experience in the field.

Midlife career change into teaching, because I love language and really get a lot from seeing teens grow into themselves... but I just don't know if I can keep up.
