Undergrad in desperate need of advice. Have full time offers from Kearney and Roland Berger. Interested in PE/M&A work. I feel like Kearney is a great cultural fit and a strong name - the safe option. Roland is promising me tons of international travel and strong CDD work. Not sure what to do/consider. Any advice appreciated.

I’m curious when the last time you went outside your city bubble? Because the professions you listed overwhelmingly live in the bubble.
Because if you talk to a 4th generation farmer, the person working the laundromat, a mom and pop grain & feed store, or anyone living in rural America, you’re going to be surprised. For the most part, they don’t give a damn about politics outside the county roles, or things like livestock authority, sheriff, fish & game, that actually affect them. They care when times are hard and the know when times are good.
I grew up in the town of Lovelady, Texas. Most people have no idea what small town life is like and what matters. When you have 700 people in your town, you know everyone, so it changes how you approach things

While I dont want to discount rural american, these people mostly live in cities.

I wonder how many people in here actually live outside of a city and talk to people mentioned here. I live in a rural area, and I can tel you that Most of these people don’t give a crap about national or state politics. If changes to their way of life occur, they want it fixed. That’s really it.

Right. They never shut about it, which is the opposite of what you were saying. I never had to watch Fox News/listen to Rush Limbaugh because I would know the talking points by what I heard them talk about and eventually share on social media. And when Trump was president, it’s like it got a turbo.

Why? Do I need to understand the farmers my taxes subsidize?
I am being a bit snotty, but most economic activity actually is in cities and this is why small towns are dying.
I mean, it is fair to say we should understand the reasoning of the Founding Fathers, but also that the nation dramatically changed after the Civil War (the 14th Amendment literally transformed the Constitution), and the FDR presidency transformed it again by setting up larger bureaucracies.

And look at the actual voting behavior of the representatives instead of whatever the narrative is
