Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

Where are you traveling to?? The virus is getting worse. I’m surprised any company (either yours or the client) has lifted travel restrictions.
Is it really necessary for consultants to travel at this time?
Guys, I don't want to make this a debate about whether or not we should all be traveling and mask/no mask nonsense. I personally do not feel comfortable traveling but there is something unavoidable that has come up, so I'm going to take every precaution possible.
Apparently they're increasing help from the national guard to enforce restrictions. There might be different restrictions if you're traveling for work, so the same restrictions may not apply. Now you can get a Covid test before you arrive, and 3 days after you arrive to bypass the 14 day restrictions.
Honestly, I don't think they're really doing much about enforcing anything as I've had a different experience every single time.
Thanks C1 - I read about the new rules as well. Are you actually traveling every week?
