Time to leave this industry and try something else. I’ve got an interview driving a baggage buggy at the airport next next. Wish me luck.
Omg I considered being an airport ramp agent while I’m not working too LOL! Just so I can at least enjoy free flights while I’m not working. My bf talked me out of it bc he said it would be a lot of lifting for me. But I hope you get it so you can enjoy free flights. Don’t forget to wear earplugs if you’re out on the tarmac. Good luck at your interview! :)
Thank you, I believe we all should learn new skills and grow everyday at any age. My frustration is not about me not wanting to go above and beyond, learn new skill, or do any job to makes end mean. My frustration is from employer not giving us a chance.
I do’not mind to work in a differeythe industry but that is complicated too, I have to start from 0 and learn different set of skills. Who want to give a job to someone with no experience in the a new field at the age of 45.
I’m almost 57 and starting again. I’m going to make less money but I’m fit and healthy and ready to learn new skill-sets.
You will not find a job easily. Wish it weren’t true, but it is frick’n tough to even land an interview
"If you have good work history at a good agency with good work, you find a job easily."
Do you know how many people have GREAT work from GREAT agencies and are still unemployed? What kind of post is this?
Agree, have that but the only way how to work seems to go freelance. But I need secure job for now... Sadly I have gap in my resume.... What is this world??? Gaps should be normal. I just needed to take some time off for my life... I did not loose the skills or so on...
I don’t know; I am struggling so much to find a job that I think it is because of me being unemployed for a year or so and also because I don't have great agency experience in my resume. My assumption was if you have A-list agencies and recent award-winning work, the door opens a lot easier than for someone with not a perfect work history!
For me the hardest part when it comes to recruiters is having them hit reply to your messages or manage to have more than 2 messages in a sequence without ghosting you.
