What is your favorite subject to teach?
And happy Fourth of July to all 🇺🇸
Here is the website https://www.c3teachers.org/inquiries/ It also has a generator where you can make your own inquiry. The key to a good inquiry is the question. It has to be a big question that is interesting and debatable. There is no right or wrong answer but it’s all about how the student use the evidence to prove their answer. You can also look at “Read like a historian” which is from SHEG that I mentioned before.
Have you looked at C3 inquiries? Also more DBQ based but SHEG has great resources too.
I agree about SHEG and thank you for letting me know about C3 inquiries, it looks amazing!
Also I don’t know if you have access to Discovery Ed or DBQ Project but those are two other great resources.
All of the above are great materials. Also Stanford Education Group has a lot of great inquiry based lessons. https://sheg.stanford.edu/
I love SHEG. You can also check out Beyond the Bubble from SHEG, which assesses their historical literacy skills.
In my class, we use project based learning and assessments. I believe that it is important to switch it up. I've used DBQ projects, essays, podcasts, plays, game creations, presentations, and videos.
What is DBQ?
Document based questions, open ended questions based on primary and secondary documents. Students state a claim and use the documents as evidence to prove their claim (answer).
I’ve been doing a ton of PBL but planning on looking into C3 next year!
