I am a middle school social studies teacher and my husband is a high school art teacher. He has been an art teacher for a very long time and he’s not super proficient with Google classroom but I am. I have been helping him with lesson online resources & creating hyper docs for the lessons. He is struggling with the students not having a lot of supplies at home and how to have them create multiple day art pieces.  he teaches at a low income area, how is everyone handling supplies to students? 

Drop your classroom management ideas here. For my school it sure is nice to have a principal who supports a no phone policy.

What projects are working for you on a cart? So far, weaving and fiber is going great for me. It leaves little mess in their classrooms and doesn’t require a ton of supplies on my cart. Supplies are also inexpensive.

I will be teaching Chemistry this year in a modular classroom with no lab area. Any suggestions on virtual labs? We have chromebooks at ourvschool.

What are your favorite collaboration tools for students to use in the classroom?

Our school uses Foss Kits for Science and I was told when students return, we will need to sanitize all items before and after each use. This doesn’t seem possible in a middle school setting where each period has a 4 minute break and 25 students in each period. What do you do in your classroom to minimize the amount of work needed to clean and sanitize items. I don’t want to short change the students’ hands-on experiences.

I am moving classrooms, and my new classroom has a bathroom. I’m looking for literature that discusses bathroom etiquette and any other suggestions you might have for using a bathroom in a class.

I teach a 7th/8th grade self-contained classroom and I'm looking for recommendations on morning activities, transitions, and non-core subject matter.

I have a high level of ADD/ADHD students, so I was contemplating a Morning Meditation and/or Movement to help them focus more. I also would like to work on incorporating transition periods that will allow them to more easily convert to a six period schedule in high school.

Truth be told I have never been through onboarding via remote. It’s a bit of a struggle. It’s taking forever to get access to certain resources and my assigned mentor is always underwater. How is everyone dealing with this? My manager seems hard to please in our first couple 1:1s.

How long can you take to accept an offer? I received a forma offer today and have one more interview with another company for another position that I’m considering. I expect that the other company will let me know if they plan to make an offer by the end of the week. I am seriously considering both and want to give each a chance. My kids got the one-paragraph responses down pack. We use C-E-R like our ELA and Science counter-parts. Can anyone share a resource for teaching extended responses? Need a structure similar to CER to teach 3 paragraph responses to social studies document based questions. (Been trying to find one for 8years)
