I think I’ve finally hit my limit. My burnout is so bad that I spend my whole shift wanting to just grab my bag and walk out. I seriously can’t even wrap my head around another nursing job, even if it isn't at the bedside. Does anyone know of any decent-paying jobs for people with a nursing degree that have nothing to do with healthcare? I really need a fresh start.

I told myself I only had to get through one shift at a time. It sounds simple, but breaking it down like that kept me from walking out on the hard days.

You can try Daycares, Nursing Informatics, Nurse case manager, Nurse educator. Requires lots of documentation, less patient care. Good luck, I feel like burnout is just expected in healthcare (especially nursing) and thats just crazy to me.

Hey!

My name’s Josh, and I’m a nurse based in Columbus Ohio. Im creating a space (a podcast) for nurses to come and talk about nurse things- the good, the bad, the ugly, and what can change to make nursing better.

I also want to help nursing reconnect - the nursing workforce just feels so disconnected from education and even further from administration at times.

I’m looking for nurses of all kinds (administrative, bedside, education, Advanced practice, all specialties etc.,) to have a conv

Would a Case Managers make more an hour bc of their leadership decisions & caseload they are responsible for? In Indeed the ranges for salary varied. What would you negotiate for in NW Ohio area?

Any advice on how to tastefully tell your manager that you no longer want to be a charge nurse anymore? For us being in charge is having full assignment 3p-7p & being responsible for assigning pts , communicating w/ supervisor about various issues, making the assignment for next shift, and a mini report about each pt for the next charge. On the weekends, same responsibilities but 7a-7p. We don't get any additional pay for being in charge and I'm sick of the added responsibility and stress of it.
