I think key to retention today is Work Life Balance and firm's culture (barring exceptions). If an employee is treated as an equal partner (ofcors without equity😉), s(he) wont start looking out in the first place. While all seem to be talking of promoting this, very few practice. I dont think am going to ever leave Google just for sake of higher compensation. #views are personal and situational.
