McKinsey & Company How likely is McKinsey to rescind an offer if there's a recession/downturn before my start date? Received an Associate offer with a start date early in the Fall. But I'm worried about the offer being rescinded due to the ongoing McK scandals/issues and a potential recession in the making (which may prompt them to freeze hiring and/or renege offers).
Has this happened to anyone before at McKinsey, offer getting rescinded due to economic/company downturn? A bit worried

Credentials don’t entitle you to anything :) lesson learned
the lesson A1 was trying to point out just went right over your head there😂
Reach out to your firm's career services. Ours has been incredibly helpful for me. Funny, one of the best parts about working here is how hard they work to help you quit.
Same thing happened to me and similar profile . Got dinged when applied online (even via referral) but got the interview and the job when emailed hiring manager from our job board
Yeah, suddenly it makes way more sense
Now on the other side, alum job board + network is probably the only thing i like about mck...the chance of getting an interview with alum board is 60-80% vs when you applied online most likely that job has already got 5-10 candidate more advanced than you in the pipeline so recruiters won’t even review resumes. As mck alum hiring managers we always pay more attention to the alum channel. Tip is if you can find out the hiring manager, reach out and have an info interview. Will go a long way.

I have a similar experience OP. Lots better results the latter way.

What types of companies/roles are you going for?

Just regular Tech biz ops/ S&O types of roles (which I also have experience in lol)
Go through the alumni platform. It goes directly to the hiring manager typically. The online pipeline is full of machines that don't let your through the gate for stupid reasons like formatting and making convention.

With these schools and exp how are you not getting hits haha - I’d go through alumni for work and schools to find roles. Applying cold online has never worked for me
Nothing wrong with resume since your competing with an algorithm. Just send to hiring managers.
Because there are many MBB folks with similar pedigrees, so it’s hard to distinguish? I’m sure your candidacy is still superior to the vast majority
