Bain & Company I’m a PhD student looking to start in consulting and am looking to connect with other PhD/ADP consultants that went into consulting to learn more about the experience and how to prep for case interviews coming from a non-business background. Especially looking for advice on McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group, and Bain & Company
Bain & Company Bain & Company Do you have any insights into what they are expecting in the second (last) round? I saw that there are two cases and a presentation. Are they more interested in professionalism than the "analytical" skills assessed in the first round? Do you have any more insights into the presentation?
Many thanks in advance

Yes, some do but probably more specific to the specific recruiter or hiring manager.
This is a good point... a company like Microsoft has many different recruiters throughout the company. Could probably apply for a position in a different department and they would never know
I turned down an offer at Deloitte and subsequently got a much better offer 3years later that I took; worked out well for me!
No, of course not. People turn down offers all the time for all sorts of reasons. Just state your reasons, thank the recruiter and hiring manager for the opportunity, and you’re fine. Especially in a massive company like Microsoft.
We don’t usually, though as stated above it is down to the folks hiring. I wouldn’t think it to be a policy at any larger organization.
I was blacklisted for turning an offer down and confirmed by others in the company.
