I think this generation has finally understood that it's not worth preparing for govt jobs like UPSC, RBI, SEBI, SSC job, even state PCS.

Earlier they used to sacrifice important 3-4-5 yrs for such jobs but now people want to work more in Corporate rather than wasting their lives for such govt jobs which doesn't even have any significant future as compared to an IT job.

Is this true or people are still running after these govt jobs? I can see the mindset shift from Govt to Corporate jobs.

One recession and then government jobs will be back in demand, don't under estimate government jobs, the earning potential is huge there way better than IT (obviously talking about under the table money)

Have you seen the jobs and pay like in DRDO, ISRO etc..?

I think this is your way of getting a Validation for not making it to Govt. Sector, maybe due to some insecurity?

PS: I myself am from private sector. Never tried for public sector, never wished to!!

Everything is getting privatised. So, offcourse govt jobs are getting less. This is another reason for mindset shift.

Don't you think countries with less govt jobs or developed countries are having better social security rules and norms? People there have sufficient per capita incomes and means of education or the means to attain that freedom.

Population as much as ours and the per capita income of our country, how does this thing go in sync with the original post? Even BTech graduates in our country are not able to get a good corporate job, a significant number of people are still employed. However some have gone in a different direction than their BTech course just to get a job with average salary and are working as software engineer irrespective of the Btech discipline.

There are thousands of things in family, society and country even universe that are not solved yet, but people talk about that. When we grow we learn from elders Many things which are yet to be solved. I'm not as intelligent as you people are but just put up these thoughts without thinking about any judgements.

Good for us, a more developed a country becomes lesser sheen for govt jobs

True

There are few states where people with government jobs are treated like Gods and not much opportunities are available elsewhere. Hence the obsession.

For marriage purpose to get Government grooms and bride.. usually girl family search for Government jobs.. the socialist habits same continue

Yes in few states they search for government jobs grooms because they don’t have private jobs in those states.

Upsc to still is a favourite especially in relatively less developed states and even the competition in others havent decreased at all.

Recruiter from Amazon reached out for a phone screen for a L7 role st Amazon - Principal Product Manager, Technical. I'm a first year M and have been in consulting mostly. I do have the technical expertise the role requires but no product management experience per se. Think L7 at Amazon for me is a reach. My concern is if I interview and fail, I will be barred from interviewing from another role for 6 to 12 months. Should I give it a shot or save my chance for something more realistic (e.g. L6)?

Hi!! I’m an HR Coordinator currently (about two years of experience) but my job has so many responsibilities and tasks I’m beyond burnt out. It’s truly impossible to focus on one task because things are constantly being thrown my way. I’ve heard whisperings of a promotion or raise, but my workload is already too much, I don’t know if I’d want to accept more responsibility. Is it normal to feel like you have just as many responsibilities as your superiors who make 30k+ more than you?

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

At what point does the value of a degree fall off? I'm in my early 30s, and have five years of experience, and work on a very theoretically interesting project. I believe I'm on track to promotion in the next year. So, I could put in a year of full time school to check the box off, but I'd be sacrificing hobbies and social life (not to mention cost). Is this FOMO or is there real opportunity here?

Requirement - relatively better work life balance / stable pay

Please suggest if I should accept this offer. They don't have issues with 90days NP.
