Force their hand. Don't reveal your ctc. Ask them what this position is worth for. Most people make mistake of assuming ctc depends on yoe but it really depends on how much middleman company/product based company will lose if the position is not backfill in next few days/month. Whenever you are asked about ctc say tell me your budget for this position. They will say - I am asking for general understanding of postion you hold at your current org. To which you can respond - my resume can state that. ctc is result of what I represent on that resume. Let me know your best offer and I will let you know if it is beneficial for both parties or not. From past 4 years I have not revealed my ctc to any hr who is trying to recruit me. I only revel my ctc when they ask for my past 3 months of salary slips.

That goes for age as well so don't be surprised if 4 yoe are offered the same amount as you will earn. 🙂

I think even if experience matters but if your package is low beyond a certain point then you can expect 100- 150 percent hike but don't expect immediately a larger hike. because 200 percent hike is also possible but that requires companies in need and you are highly skilled at what they are expecting.
