I want to be more effective in my job search, so I wanted to ask, if "junior" attorneys have 3 to 5 years of experience (that's what I keep seeing), then where do recent grads or attorneys with <3 years of experience fall? The market is already bad enough, so seeing all of these "junior" positions just makes things worse. Thank you!

Just apply. I rarely see a posting for “ law graduates “ or “ entry level”. If you have less than 3 year experience, you should apply those “junior” positions.

like

"Entry level" or something. Idk. These distinctions are half meaningless, and you know that, right?

like

Oh, I know. I just don't want to waste my time clicking on positions that require more experience than I have.

You are getting the right advice here. Every week I see at least 5 positions open to entry level attorneys. If you are open to living in Atlanta, Georgia, or working for the Federal government (when it is open), then try those searches. As for positions that ask for 3+ years when you have (1 - 2 yrs?), as others have said, go ahead and apply. You might consider presenting your youth in practice as an attractive quality offering malability (call yourself flexible and interested in investing yourself in X practice). It worked for me when I leapt as 2L in BigLaw. Hold this wisdom in your aspirations: "Let your reach exceed thy grasp ..."

Happy wife happy life is a really toxic saying. I’m just shocked how this has become the standard saying for men in relationships. I have friends of mine saying this all the time, and I have just thought it’s so cringe and always want to say my thoughts on it but always decide to hold back. However, imagine the saying reversed - happy husband happy life - that would lead to all kinds of uproar. To me happy wife happy life means I need to sacrifice my wants and needs to make my wife happy.
