Hmm? You want an HR person to state that they discriminate against women?
I’m certain none of them will admit to that, and that very few of them think they do it.

There is a grade level and associated salary range. If a future employee asks for too low compared with current peers we will bump to match.
That being said not every company is like that. If they ask for a number, say I want to be paid on par with my peers.

Ideally it doesn’t. I highly doubt HR anywhere goes with the idea ‘she’s not male let’s offer lower salary.’ But biases do exist when people perceive women (mostly.. thought could be men as well) to be weaker at negotiating or marketing themselves.. the company negotiator can use it to the company’s advantage. It can even be an unconscious bias when despite your skill set, the hiring manager perceives that a man in your position would do better. True of any industry including IT. Overall this leads to women getting paid less than their male counterparts.
Statistics also get skewed as women tend to be found in greater numbers at low paying jobs (for various reasons including being denied promotions because of bias)
But I hope as an industry IT is taking steps to be cognizant of these facts and make the change.
