I have HUGE amounts of resentment and anger as this happened at 61 years old. The family member has recovered and I’d like to go back to work (in the middle of all this I’m about to have back surgery) but have no idea where to start aside from sensing I’ll be lucky to get 1/2 what I was making! In this economy! Ok, today’s rant is over.

I just started a new job 2 months ago, benefits and PTO don’t start until 90 days in so I still have a month before I can take off any time, and today found out my company doesn’t offer paid maternity leave.

However, I have seen poor reviews for working at TCS and I’d like to get some feedback from anyone currently or had previously worked for that company. Asking advice from a recruiter: I’ve been recently laid off :( This week I took some time to reflect, talk to friends and family. I want to be more thoughtful on my next move and although interviewing right away would be logical I feel I want to take a break and some time for myself. Take a month or two off working and use that time to plan thoughtfully on my next move. Would having that gap in my resume be an issue when I go back to the job market?
