Honestly, a lot of hiring managers understand that unrealistic metrics and workload issues are happening across many industries right now.
It’s probably better not to frame it as “I was fired because I couldn’t do the job.” Instead, focus on it being a role where the expectations and metrics ultimately weren’t the right fit, while still highlighting what was learned and accomplished there.
Something like: “The role had very aggressive metrics that became difficult to sustain long term, but the experience still helped strengthen my skills in ___.”
Most employers care more about how someone talks about the situation, whether they stay professional, and what they took away from the experience moving forward.
Definitely not the only person dealing with that kind of situation lately.
