I was hired as the general manager of the Morning Mingle in Aquasco Maryland. I was the third manager in under three months. The owners live in Georgia and have no idea what the local customers want. They overrode every one of my suggestions, chose to waste money following national trends, disrespected all employees and even cursed me via text for taking money to get change. It is a nice place but I see it as doomed if they do not change their ways.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.
