I've joined a company while pregnant in the past, although I didn't get full maternity pay cover. I've also accepted an offer during maternity leave, and they waited 6 months for me to start. Them extending the offer shows they are a welcoming place for working mothers. Make istikhara, may Allah guide you to what's best for you in both worlds
Yes
I am UTTERLY CONFUSED. I was secretly hoping they won’t offer so I won’t have to bear the pain of walking away from it myself, but the offer has made it much harder… and instead of feeling happy I just feel upset over the whole situation. Are you entitled to 52 weeks of mat leave (even if without pay) regardless of the length of employment
This is my understanding:
You're entitled to 52 weeks of maternity leave regardless of how long you've worked for your employer.
To qualify for statutory maternity pay you must have been employed continuously for at least 26 weeks by the end of the 15th week before the baby is due.
