I am sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time finding a new role. I have several friends who are looking for new roles and they have been looking for over six months. This is a really tough job market to be searching in. I would suggest networking and trying to get a referral to help you get your foot int he door somewhere.

If you're getting interviews, that's a very good sign. You're coming across as a strong candidate. If you're not getting offers after interviews you could examine your interview technique and contemplate how to improve there. But don't be too hard on yourself, interviews are a competition against opponents we don't see, and there's only one winner. You just have to work on your confidence and make sure next time you'll be the one to edge out the other candidates.

That's so frustrating. I still have a job, but I hate it and am desperate to move on. I've been applying for 6 months now and only had a few interviews so far. This job market is so rough. Hang in there, fingers crossed you get some good news soon.

I hope you have better luck than I am. I have had to accept a job that is $20,000 less per year than my previous job just to get hired. This is a job I could have done back in high school, before my 40 year career! The only way I can get interviews is applying for jobs far below my capabilities. I truly hope you have better luck.

Hi, I have a couple of possible opportunities moving forward in my career. Currently I am an administrative coordinator at a university handling a specific area with a helping hand in multiple others. I’m about to have a opportunity to be a procurement assistant in the same office. I also likely have an office manager opportunity in a small IT cybersecurity business. The other pending slight possibility is a assistant property management. I would appreciate feedback on the different career paths

I’ve been interviewing for new positions to leave PA. But in my current position, we’ve been adding quite a few new projects (and our team is partner, two staff, and me) that will probably start over the next couple of months. I don’t think my boss has any idea I’m looking to leave - anything I should do to not feel guilty about potentially leaving them short staffed with a ton of work? Is this something you think about when looking to leave?

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?

I am in the process of finding administrative assistant interns from our local universities. In an effort to make my job opportunity appealing, I am asking everyone in this bowl about an appropriate job title. Is "Administrative Assistant" outdated or unappealing? I certainly don't want to mislead anyone on the job responsibilities, but I do want to avoid any potential negative stereotypes attached to that job title. Are there alternative titles that you find more appropriate for 2022?

Happy Wednesday everyone. I'm so excited, I have a recruiter call scheduled with @Meta for Administrative Partner position. I've been in my current employer role for 19 years and I'm nervous as heck. I haven't had to do an interview in so long. Can someone please tell me what to expect with the recruiter call? I'm assuming it will be mostly about the role, my skills and background? Do they ask salary expectations? I have no idea what to say for the salary question. Feedback appreciated. Thanks
