I received four rejections in the past 48 hours.
Hang in there
Applying for a job is definitely exhausting, especially with endless rounds of interviews. I think you could take a break from applying for a while, if you think it’d improve your mental health.
You’re obviously qualified and interview well enough to get to that stage. This may not apply (without knowing your personal situation, details, etc) but one thing we always worry about with bounce back folks like you (in house to a firm and back in house) is that you’re looking to get back to an in house job, but not necessarily THIS in house job. In other words, we’re afraid of the flight risk that you’ll be here a year and bounce once something comes along that’s a better fit for you. I might suggest playing up why a particular job, role, etc. is what you’re looking for and make it seem like the best fit even if that may not be exactly the case.
What were the jobs that you did get that are not your specialty or in-house?
What is your current job now? It might be that they are wondering why you are job hopping and unfortunately, if you were really laid off. People these days are super skeptical for no reason.
