I was restructured along with my old team into a larger group, and I’m feeling super left out by them. Im starting to doubt my ability to contribute to the organization. I briefly brought it up with my new manager who said he would ask my new colleagues to include me in more projects but it doesn’t really seem to be happening. I’m getting nervous, it’s getting hard to be entrepreneurial. What would you do?

What I do in such situation is to read the team and learn the pecking Order and align with the key players in the team to understand the project at hand

You need to earn your place in the team, so start with something small, get in that corridor conversation and make yourself visible more by volunteering and dont wait for instructions on what to do!

You are better off volunteering and make more contributions to project. You have to be very proactive rather than being reactive at this phase.

Anyone’s company still going through the hiring process up to Christmas? Was in the running for a role at a consultancy and had an interview scheduled for weeks. I have other interviews lined up but this one was a favourite.

Never had this happened before, so just curious to know if this is normal?

Senior to Manager-level Data Scientists, what is the minimum set of skills and experience you require someone to have in order to train them to be a Data Scientist?

I have a handful of people from BI and Marketing who want to learn how to be a "Data Scientist" where some of them have stronger SQL knowledge and ability than others, but some of them have more exposure to languages like Python and R, and a little bit of machine learning exposure.

Appreciate the input in advance.
