I was selected for a role at Mastercard via Persistent Systems. Initially, Persistent offered me 40 LPA (39 fixed,1 variable). When I requested an increase of 1 LPA (40 fixed,1 variable), the recruiter reacted angrily, raised her voice and said she would drop my candidature.

Two days later, she completely changed her stance, reduced the offer to 34 LPA and downgraded the role without any clear explanation.

Is there any possibility of joining Mastercard directly, rather than through Persistent?

Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I recently accepted a position with a new org. One of the benefits I asked about with offer was the parental leave policy and was told (in writing by HR) 16 weeks paid after 1 year, which is as good as you can hope for in US.
