I've felt envious at times, I suppose everyone does, but I try to keep it in perspective. I wouldn't want to work as a server, for instance, and I wouldn't want to be depending on tips. And I also question how much of a future there is in service jobs like that. Working in a corporate job has some stability and potential for advancement, and as time goes by that matters more and more.

You are right. Job stability is more important than relying on tips. I just feel envious when I compare my earning with those who actually rely on tips.
I really wish I had the confidence to serve! It sounds like they make great money.
Pro
They do, but it takes a lot of energy and confidence to do butter people and cash in money.
It is best to not compare yourself with others. There is no comparison. You are you and they are themselves, too.
Are you happy with your job? That is more important than the money
First of all yes, I compare myself to others my age (or younger) all of the time. Secondly, maybe I need to start looking for work at the hotels around town!
Pro
See! Thats what I was talking about. When you are more qualified but make less, it hurts.

Yeah, it’s wild how that happens sometimes. Tips can really add up! I think it’s easy to compare, but every job has its trade-offs. Still, I get why that would make you stop and think.

I have worked in beauty industry where I used to make alteast $100-$120 in tips everyday but it was very exhausting. So I guess people working in service industry deserve tips.
That’s why I am trying to get an hourly position within the hotels instead of management, they double us plus earn over time .🙏🏾
