Everyone saying “it always bounces back” is ignoring the fact that some stocks never recovered. Ask anyone who held airline or bank stocks in ‘08. Blind optimism is not a strategy—protect yourself or get wrecked.

Indexes have so far bounced back. Even the Japanese market did after 30 years of you lived long enough. Individual stocks however go to zero lots.

The market is in turmoil because there is no steady hand or clear vision at the helm. The stock market has always been a gamble. Investors thrive on the thrill of the game. "Hold or Fold." "Risk vs. Reward." The old saying is you don't lose anything if you don't sell. Tell that to those who bought stock in Sears in 2007 at $122/share. I think it is worth 10 cents a share, over-the-counter, now. Be smart, be careful. It is not a good time to take risks. You are asking for trouble, and you won't have to ask twice.

No crying in the casino

Curious what system everyone uses for cataloging books. We use the free version of Koha and no longer use the Dewey decimal system but catalog by genre, ie. mystery, science fiction, contemporary, action, historical fiction, etc. I took over the library after this format was set in place.

I’ve seen this rant a lot so I know we all have that one partner—but for the love of god can you just forward me the emails when you get it?? I see you got this urgent request over 10 days ago 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

I started working for a bank and am going through the background check. They found an arrest which was dismissed and the file was sealed a few days after the check. They’re requesting the police report on top of the court order to seal. The police report is BAD. During the arrest (DUI) they wrote the report to make me seem like a complete lunatic. Embellished on several elements of the case. I am worried that giving them this report will cause me to be let go.

Long time in the making; but we finally sold off from our 50% HWB short. We had two tests at the 3400 level, getting as high as 3420 today before the sell off. Momentum and pessimism over lack of stimulus could take us to the 3107 target quickly, nearly a 10 percent decline over the next month. Stay short my friends. It's going to get bumpy.

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.
