I started working for a bank and am going through the background check. They found an arrest which was dismissed and the file was sealed a few days after the check. They’re requesting the police report on top of the court order to seal. The police report is BAD. During the arrest (DUI) they wrote the report to make me seem like a complete lunatic. Embellished on several elements of the case. I am worried that giving them this report will cause me to be let go.

I joined as a Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O functional consultant and it seems like there are no F&O projects.

I got 2 calls for AX 2012(Older version of F&O) projects but having worked only in F&O, I do not want to switch to an older version of the ERP. And I had made this clear during my interview itself.

Starting my sober journey today. Glad to have found this community. Honestly hopeful but also scared.

I’ve been sober about 14 months, and now with things opening up more I’ve been going out to dinner, concerts etc with friends. I’ve been finding it hard to have fun, or not get restless while out. I think a large part of this is maybe I find the company around me boring? and they’re also all drinking. Maybe I just needed to write that out and vent to say, I’m bored! Maybe saying that out loud will help me get out of my comfort zone to find new activities that change my outlook.

By the grace of God, the fellowships of AA, NA and my family I am celebrating 30 years being clean and sober.

Recently had a friend tell me about Kill The Can. Says he posts there every day to help keep the addiction out in the open. He is now over 1000 days clean.
Is there anything like this out there for SA/PA? My highest stint of days was 237 and haven’t gotten close since. Mostly making it 1 month and then falling again…

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who shares in this group. It truly helps me stay sober. I am approaching 12 months sober but have been struggling lately. While I have not relapsed, I’ve been close. Normally, before I get out of bed, I write down my reason to stat sober for the day, but lately the reasons have been lousy at best. But reading about everyone’s struggles and successes has helped get me through this past month. So thank you all for the inspiration to keep going strong!

It is very difficult for me to come to terms with my spiritual illness because of my great pride, disguised by my material successes and my intellectual power. Intelligence is not incompatible with humility, provided I place humility first. To seek prestige and wealth is the ultimate goal for many in the modern world.

If you're looking for inspirational films about addiction I highly recommend The Resurrection of Jake the Snake Roberts. It's a documentary about the wrestler who had about as bad an addiction problem as you can imagine. It goes through his problems, despair, but also shows his road to recovery through platonic love, support, and he finds redemption. It's great for anyone like me that tried and failed to get sober for years. I have over a year now for the first time.

Starting on my journey to sobriety today from sex addiction. I’ve been clean from alcohol for several years but my therapist has pushed me to start attending AA meetings in addition to SAA meetings. I know I can’t overcome this alone.

On Christmas day I will be 3 years sober!!! And I've had a steady job for two of those years!! 3 years ago on Christmas I realized I was going to lose my family if things didn't change and they've stood right beside me through a TOUGH 3 years. I have been alcohol free for 2 months but I use MMJ to focus. My dr prescribed MMJ because I don’t want pharma drugs like Adderall. Is there a place for me in AA or is it all (sobriety) or nothing?
