I work at a Big 4. Is it normal for a client to make you do a background check and credit check? I’m uneasy about it and I have a freeze on my credit.

Joined LTI recently in P3 band. However not allocated any project. Got a call from the resource management team to relocate, which I rejected upfront as I was promised a role in the location I am posted. It has been over 2 weeks since I am in bench. What shall be the next steps, shall I wait for some days or start looking for other jobs as getting a project looks difficult as there are minimalist responses.

Does anyone include a bit on invoices like "Accounts not paid within terms are subject to a .75% monthly (9% annual) finance charge" or something like that?

Tangentially, has anyone had an invoice with 30-day terms kicked back for revisions because the client's terms are longer, or do they just ignore what you've stipulated?

Anyone moved to Canada from the UK? Would like to know how culture and pay compare (esp within the big 4) and whether it was overall worth it from your personal experience?

I wanted to pass my PMP first (which I did on Friday) and went to apply to the role yesterday to see that it got taken down. I do have a friend who can refer me but does she have to wait for another posting to come up before she refers me? I left Audit at a midsize firm to join KPMG erp implementation consulting about 6 months ago. So far they seem to only want to staff me on projects with a heavy focus on technical accounting and audit. Spoke to a lot of others who have left and seems like being pigeonholed or staffed on projects not related to the actual core work of the practice is the common reason. I've been on the fence about whether I should stay and hope to be staffed on better projects in the future or leave soon...
