Call a lawyer for sure. But also file the complaint with HR and keep track of all of your communications. Don't talk on the phone without a lawyer present. Communicate over email as much as possible.
On Monday I was going to call a lawyer for wrongful termination
Contact your local department of labor and tell them you've been wrongfully terminated. Show them your proof. It will be cheaper (free), than contacting a lawyer.
Show them the letter. If they won't acknowledge the letter, then that would be the time for you to engage the services of a lawyer. That's already a form of discrimination.
I've not had experience in this but I would first take them the letter proving you got approved for time off. Then I would make a call to a lawyer.
