May I know how WLB in this company, I see in glassdoor and ambitions contains positive and negative. Is it worth to join? Is it useful for me to enhance my career for long run? How about the retention pay? If we leave the company we need to pay entire retention pay?I have other wipro and CTS, which company is better to join?
About to head to the HC for a role in ProdOps and Strategy in Mountain View. 4 YoE at MBB, no competing offers. Recruiter gave me a form that asks expected comp.
Levels.fyi has only PM salaries. I haven’t been told the level but expect it to be L4.
What total comp would you expect for this role? Any advice would be super helpful, as I’m a bit lost.

Lowest rates and form of ID, leverage it to get into more complex stuff like MVAs, Premises Liability, Wrongful death, Insurance coverage, med mal, and employment in terms of levels of prestige (roughly)
Agree with A 1
I wasn’t sure about it at first. But 9 years later I don’t want to do any other form of law. I think it’s one of the few legal careers that provides a good work/life balance (with the right firm).
I did the math once. My friend working big law worked 12+ hrs/day earned twice as much as me, but I put in 1/2 as much time.
Do you like it? Are you happy? You can make a career out of anything you want if you enjoy it and work hard at it. With that being said there are downsides with that practice area. Specifically the low rates and high number of hours you will have to do.
Assuming this is a first job in ID? I would try to move on to another practice area soon. It’s definitely its own separate area of law and you will get pigeonholed if you don’t expand a bit.
No, w/c defense is pretty easy to switch to ID. Although the work is different, people understand the similarities. Also, ID is not really that difficult to break into, it’s getting out of ID which is the problem.
Just switched to WC on defense side from civil litigation and family law background. Without a doubt, I am much happier here than ever before. I think it really depends on where you are, but in LA you can easily make $150-200k+ in any WC defense firm. The work/life balance and being 100% remote is incredible. This is coming from someone with two young kids. I can see myself being here forever.
