I would love to enter the Columbia CBS MBA in January term, but I have a not very strong GMAT (635, equivalent to 680 from the old version). Is this enough to get in or do you recommend trying to give the Executive Assessment? Which one is preferred? If helpful, I have 3.5 years of work behind me, including 2 years at McKinsey

Get a higher score, you can do it!

Score isn’t everything, got into multiple schools with a 310 gre (top 15 and M7)

Dm me if you need tips. I’m applying this fall and went from a 580 gmat legacy to a 710 legacy but ended up taking the gre and got a 331

For j-term, your score is enough as long as you have a gpa of 3.0 or more

like

I got in with 161

I would try the EA to see how you do. I couldn’t do too well on the GMAT but took the EA and ended up with a very high score. Check out the gmat prep tests and see if you do well

Thanks everyone. What is a target EA score I should aim for?

I got in with a 156 and was told anything higher than a 150 should be good if you have a gpa higher than 3.0

like

The prep you have done for the GMAT is totally transferrable to the EA. Give that test a shot. Ideally get >160 with all subscores in the double digits.

There aren't sufficient EA scores to make the EA part of the rankings calculation. Adcom just needs confidence that you can do the work.

If you are a consultant at McK then they likely will not be concerned about you.

Assuming you are sponsored, entering the J-term is a piece of cake. They want you to be able to pay and have a job waiting for you.

Worried because of my salary at my current company I am pricing myself out of opportunities to move into a rep agency that could eventually give me the opportunity to buy into it. I’m currently almost topping out on my salary at current company with no opportunity to progress. Can make good money for a while here, but new challenge is interesting to me. Struggling accepting I may have to cut my salary 10k-20k in order to do that…

My wife is a great mother. She, however, is not very physically affectionate and always has a million excuses. I crave physical affection both in the bedroom and in general. I’ve communicated this many times and nothing has changed. It’s driving me nuts and making me feel completely unwanted. I work hard for our family and try to do things around the house as well but often work many more hours overall. Not really sure the point of writing all this out, I just hate it.

For context, I want to get into product management at FAANG/fintech with pursuing MBB as a plan B. Thanks in advance!

Hi guys, I have a somewhat different question this time. Background: I have >8YOE and earn >100k€ in Europe and have been doing a Masters in Management next to working full time; and I'm almost done; However I failed an exam thrice (each time on the exam date I had important projects to run) now I need to find an MBA/MSC programme where I can transfer a lot of my already earned credits, any ideas here guys? Or should I just leave it- It was basically the last exam before starting my thesis..

Heading to an M7 soon from a tech company where I work in a product-adjacent position. I didn’t need this degree to “break into” product management (former company would have let me transition), but I still figured it could be good for the long run.
Now when thinking about 100K in loans, I feel anxious about not getting a PM role after. Was this the right move?
