Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

In the US with good health insurance, I waited 6 hours in the ER for an X-ray after a car accident. And I once had to wait 4 months to get an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon.
Save your GOP talking points about wait times in Canada.
Not sure what it’s like in the US, but hospital wait times are a disaster - people regularly 10+ hours in the Emergency Room, waitlists for specialists are 4+ months, the list goes on..
Given the opportunity I would switch to a private health care system.
I wouldn’t use the healthcare system as the basis for your decision to move up here.

Ok, but health outcomes are better. Maybe they’re optimizing for that rather than customer experience.
D1 speaks the truth. If you have to wait horrendously long you might as well not have to pay for it
Talk to this guy called Justin Bieber. I hear he may have moved a few years back. Justin.bieber@aol.com
But the VA is fixed now because the doctor who thinks Trump weights 239 lbs is on the job!
I’m not sure what level of income you think equates to “our level,” but the US pays a HUGE amount of money for healthcare for worse outcomes. So the negative drag created by that probably means you need to have a very high income indeed before you’re better off in the US
Moved to the US about ten years ago. Nothing beats home, but by being in the US you’re usually closer to the seat of power. More opportunities for interesting work, I’ve found.

Agree completely with D1
You do wait significantly longer in Canada for procedures, that’s backed up by pretty much every study. However overall health outcomes are better. You still pay for it C1, just through taxes. Overall most probably are better off under the Canadian system, with the poorer benefitting most while those with our level of income probably benefit more from the US system.
Personally I’m just wary of our dysfunctional government being able to run single payer. I look at the VA and shudder
Just to add context, I’m Canadian, working in the US, getting poached to move. Salary is A LOT higher.
^sounds like a worthwhile move
Have you compared take home pay and cost of living? The top line salary comparison is hard to use with so many other variables in motion
