Three. Two is outdated
Yup, in Nassau County NY.
1 door. It’s much better if you ever need to fit a larger vehicle and worry about the sides fitting.
A lot may have to be due to cost. Larger door means larger motor. Structure wise also.
One thing to be careful: sometimes single door garages have smaller space than 2-1 door garages. If you’re building yourself just ensure space.
Two
I strongly prefer a double wide single door. The extra door just means a piece of wall in between that can be in the way and also means two remotes, two systems etc.
The only possible benefit to two doors is looks I think, but I personally don’t think it looks any better.
IMO get as wide deep garage as possible, it’s so nice to not feel like you have a crowded garage… getting kids out groceries out, opening car door near the wall etc.
Coach
1 door unless you are going to make the garage extra wide and have more than normal space between the two. Otherwise you are going to have a post in the middle that is going to be in the way.
1 door for me, means only one set of mechanical items that can break down vs 2.
I think 2 has a nicer look
I converted a 2-door garage to a large 1door, it looks much better and easier for my wife to pull into the garage without the column in between the doors.
Idk. It was part of a total gut reno and addition, I don’t have it itemized.
1 less maintenance/ problems.
