Hi Fishes
I would like to know about the client interviews (especially in data science or machine learning roles).
Are these interviews tough?
Are these interviews meant to assess technical knowledge? For example, what is binomial distribution, what are different data structures in python, ml algorithms etc.
I would request each of the nagarrians to share their thoughts irrespective of the technologies you are working.
I am thankful to you for taking time and helping me out.

This is the same thing that keeps happening to me. For one job, I made it all the way to the fifth round and then got rejected. I can only assume they found a better fit for the role, but dang—that rejection still stings.

Yes! And better can also mean cheaper. It also happened to me.
It’s awesome that you’re making it past the early rounds, but I get that it’s frustrating to not make it all the way to the final stage. Do you think the early rounds are mostly about coding skills, while the later rounds focus more on soft skills and culture fit? From what I’ve seen, that’s usually the case.

There are also multiple technical stages. But you never know what happens with other candidates... It is hard to understand exactly what caused rejection...
It could be a mix of factors, like fit, expectations, or competing candidates. By round 3, you’re usually past the technical filter, so the decision often comes down to alignment with the team or role. Getting feedback after each round can help pinpoint the gap.
