If I file a petition to waive the annual accounting requirement for a guardian, (doing work for a friend’s friend pro bono), does the judge grant or deny without a hearing? Do I need to submit a proposed order to get a ruling? Hillsborough County.

You will need to submit a cover letter requesting an ex-parte ruling. Then write the JA attaching both CV and PO as a courtesy copy and note that you are requesting ex-parte review and if the judge is not inclined to do so, then request hearing dates :)

I believe improving one’s sales conversion rate is something everyone want to improve but no one wants to admit they would like to work it. Funny how lawyers will spend thousands on seminars to improve trial skills. But this topic is not discussed in our profession. I have read books in sales. But am unable to find any for lawyers. I want convert every lead I can. Does anyone have tips, books, cle’s or studied this topic?

Jr. Associate at an AmLaw 100 firm in Central Florida. Good credentials; top 10% at T14, law review. Sick of private practice bc of hours and pressure. Also, not enjoying the work that Central Florida offers, but want to live here.

I want to one day have my own firm. Trying to think outside the box on how to get the experience w/o being in big law for ten years.

Thinking of applying to be an ASA and to the FL AGO. Would like trial experience or civil rights/con law work.

Thoughts appreciated!
