5th year, plaintiff’s side, litigation boutique. Less than 30 lawyers.
140k salary, 10% commission on settlements. Cleared 700k last year. On track to do the same this year.
What specific area do you practice? Currently doing property plaintiffs side and feel capped at 250k
I’m in central Florida at a firm with around 200 or so lawyers all around the country. I make $145,000 in my 4th year. My wife is at a similar sized law practice but doing ID and makes $110,000 In her 3rd year. Hope that helps!
As a second-year at Nelson Mullins in Orlando last year, my target rate was $315. $125k salary, but the bonus was significant. I’ve heard base has now been raised to $175k.
Smaller Tallahassee firm. First year at $160k. That’s like $250k in Tampa/Orlando!
What market? Miami offices tend to pay differently than tampa/Orlando, which tend to pay differently from Jax/Tallahassee. Also, when you say “regional decent size firms” are you talking about ID-focused firms (e.g., CSK, wicker smith, etc.) or legitimate full service shops (Shutts, Phelps, Adams Reese, GrayRobinson, etc.)?
For central florida I’ve recently seen as low as $120k and as high as $195k for the roles that seem to fit your description (full service, regional, 3-6 years exp).
4th year in Panhandle. $400 hourly rate at $165k salary.
In Tallahassee doing commercial litigation with some appellate work, as well.
For reference, I’m central florida. Defense full service firm.
