I actually think it would behoove you to think about if it’s better to stay at the current class year, and give yourself a longer runway and more time to develop skills and substantive knowledge expected.

Still, it’s worth being successful while you’re there. You’ll be more likely to get staffed on projects, meet your hours, get your bonus. There can also be a less obvious benefit to high performance and being busy: you are more likely to have some say in the people you work with and the type of work you do.
Are you prepared for the increased responsibility that might come with the increased class year? Are you on par w/ others in that class year? If so, then yes.

What was the leave for?
Probably not in your case but my first thought was that if this was parental leave, I would be suspicious about discrimination against mothers/parents.
Do you think a new firm will ask about why you took a long leave?
Would they know? Since I was still officially employed during that time
