Hello Fishes, please let me know how are projects in BCMA department under ICG group in city bank. I have an offer from city which I have not yet accepted considering many negative reviews of work culture in City. However HR said I am not sure about other departments but you can check for BCMA dept with friends or on LinkedIn. Please help.

Haha, while I agree, some clients need to be led a little. At least in the sense that I don't want to hear about their entire job, just points that are relevant to the audit
Slightly annoyed when I watch people conduct walkthroughs and dominate the conversation. Just let them talk and tell you about the process
Also the worst is when you prompt them to describe the process and the client says "well like what do you want to know" or "what does your documentation say"
The worst is when the client is rude and stupid
Which is where the prep comes in handy
^ Yep. Or else you'll be looking at a lot of back and forth to get what you actually want. That's not good as you get deeper into the Audit.
the worst is when you show up and they say "oh I don't have that ready now, I can get it to you later." somebody did a bad job of preparing you for what a walkthrough is.
^ that necessitates escalation if repeated.
the only problem is when internal audit is facilitating your walkthroughs (choosing contacts, scheduling meetings, trying to lead meetings for you, etc.) and give you feedback not to "lead" the contacts by asking specific questions.
Lol
There's a level of implied preparation that's required. Get familiar with the process, the key controls, and approach with a skeptical mind, even if nothing has changed since the prior year.
To make myself more clear, the ideal approach (simply put) should be, you walk in and say, "Talk to me about your process from Step 1". Instruct them specifically what Step 1 is and let them guide you down the path.
You should already be aware of thing like completeness, accuracy and proper timing and such, but it's just inefficient to walk ourselves thru the process, where the client just listens and answers probing questions.
