Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

How does this post have 99+ shares???
Did my MBA at Sloan. I would say about 50% of those who recruited got an offer. Among those who were really serious about it (prepped a lot, member of the consulting club, etc) the rate is quite higher. Honestly MBB is much easier than the other common career options (FAANG, PE, VC...).
This is somewhat anecdotal but a Yuuuuuuuge factor seems to be target office location. competition for New York versus even Chicago is a bigger factor than school in most cases (though it correlates obviously). International offices even more generous
Idk I career switched away from consulting but from friends it seems that you have to be very compelling about why you want a certain office location or they won’t believe you and think you’ll go for a year and then transfer back to NY/SF
Accenture folks - typically only strategy used to get sponsored MBA packages. Since we are now strategy and consulting combined, anyone know if this benefit is extended to us on who were previously only on the consulting side 👀👀
My understanding is that they are still somewhat separate and the only difference is a slightly different go to market strategy. Also, they currently have no plans to pay for those previously in consulting but their are some discussions. Btw they only give 80k for those in strategy which is not very much.
The school doesn’t get you the job, but certain schools do place better than others. Gonna have to check employment reports and research online. There are even non-M7s that do very well with MBB recruiting, some argue even better than some M7.

Stern and Ross also do well
Kellogg
Booth/Sloan/CBS/Tuck
Fuqua/Darden
Tuck may even be stronger than Sloan/CBS. Not sure about the other T15 but I suspect Yale/Ross would be next
Office dependent
Haas places well also
Agree with target location, UCLA Anderson does really well in LA and on west coast in general.

How many MBB you think they pull each year ?
17%
Anyone told their counselor/lead/trusted MD etc. about leaving to get an MBA and they changed on you? 😅 This is giving me much anxiety lol but I’ll obviously need a recommendation lol
You can get into any office from any M7 for McK. Just need to stand out.
Also, I think campus (MBA) leadership and networking is also a big bonus.
