Hi fishes,
Any guess how many people are laid off from Publicis sapient in past few days? Really scared for my future as I'm also under probation period and deeply regret for my choice of joining this firm...I don't understand why were they recruiting peeps when they were short of projects. Publicis Sapient

Depends on how much clients love you.
As your role becomes more senior, your billable rate increases accordingly. This also means your percentage of coverage against the current scope may decrease unless the client scope and budget increase as well. So yeah, ACD1 is right, your clients need to love your work that they’re willing to pay for your higher billable rate at the same % coverage so that you’re “safe”.
All of this.👆
People have to stop chasing bigger and bigger salaries. Bigger salaries coming with higher taxes. Higher pressure. A lot bigger target. You can "make it" without chasing and agonizing over those pinnacle roles. Stay at director or GCD and save your face off. Keep your expenses low and invest your money. Eventually that money will make more than any ECD job will. Ask me how I know (not an ECD but totally good).
If you think you'll be too vulnerable and then being laid off or too valuable to lose, you're both right. Is up to you. It all depends on what do you wish to achieve in your career. Get that fat check but walk the walk, save some for a rainy day and live your job as a platform to make great things. That's building a legacy.
I have always been keen to this and decided to lay low. staying hands on
also driving budget vehicles etc. but alas....
