We got a real victim over here folks!
So KPMG1, you don’t think:
1) police brutality is an issue in America
2) systematic racism is an issue in America
3) people should be able to speak out against a government they think is on the wrong path
4) somebody who loves their country should want it to always be improving and be better than the generation before
Or all the above and that people who do are spineless.
Question, when was the last time you stood up for something you believed in and risked being tear gassed, shot with mace, shot with a rubber bullet, or beaten with a baton? Cause that doesn’t sound so spineless to me.
OW1: Protesting is not civil unrest, it is exercising a constitutional right.
Now with respect to the antagonizers and instigators, 100% agree. No reason people should destroy property, it undermines the message and shifts focus away.
It’s not a question of being “woke” or not. It’s a matter of acknowledging an uncomfortable but very real fact of life in our society that many white people, especially those of us who have traditionally voted Republican, have tried to ignore and dismiss.

So sorry people standing up for themselves is breaking your fragile shell.
I would love to see alternative POVs to institutionalized racism, been living this timeline for a while now and it kinda sucks.
Ok boomer
I don't see racism in OP's message, but I guess you did. At least, that's what your position implies when you invoked it as the subject I was commenting on, which I wasn't.
So yes, you did call OP racist. Let's not assume we both can't throw stones.
Or a religion
TRUMP 2020!
🤦♂️
I think a scenario of what OP is saying is the Minneapolis mayor, Jacob Frey. He said everything he could to check his privilege, agreed with protesters, even the ones who burnt the city down, and went to a rally to humble himself. Did everything “right” until they asked if he was in support of completely defunding the police, said no, and then was GoT style shamed. It’s okay to have a different opinion on how to fix the system. I don’t think anyone logical disagrees that racism is bad, police brutality is bad, and that there have been historical decisions that put people down. But disagreeing on how to fix an issue is not denying that issue.
Gt1 is there an actual statistic besides where refugees come from? Linking to a website without specific articles isn't very helpful.
Everything you're saying is just anecdotal. I know black people who've made it out of the ghetto. I also know black people who have gotten 10 years of jail for having $600 worth of drugs on them

I’m glad these conversations are making you uncomfortable. Growth is uncomfortable. Ask yourself, “Why do I feel this way? What about looking inwards makes this scary? How do I benefit from the status quo?”
@IC1 - because I agree with your points 100%. When it comes to politics though, Trumps campaign had to drop the “Keep America Great” slogan because, well, America isn’t great right now. They quickly adopted the “let’s not abolish police” slogan. It’s important to remember the grander context of this upcoming election though.
This election is a referendum on morals and values.
What’s your point OP, that you don’t support this movement?
What movement involves your car or small business? I’m fairly certain that is part of no ones “movement” as much as it’s about some opportunistic dickheads committing crimes during a movement.
Just returned from a National Guard mission to protect federal property from unemployed white kids with liberal arts degrees
Lol you’ve interpreted what the issue is of support.
I don't care if you don't support it as long as you're fine with me thinking you don't care about black people
Go tell people that. Go tell your team, your coworkers. They can’t hide their blackness but you can hide your ignorance.
No idea is above debate or critique. We used to call this liberalism.
It's getting crazy, I first of all do not agree with looting and burning and hurting others in the name of social justice, I do fully support peaceful protests. I've been called by crazy far lefts as a racist bc I do not support violence eitherway. This movement has gone way too far, and it's pushing me WAAAAAAAY to the right.
Well D4, it is my lived reality. I am a poc but I simply do not condone violence in the name of social justice, it's a crime that's all it is.
Like the popo?
That's how all partnerships operate. Either your "in" with the right people or you're not.
If you must feign support to acknowledge and act on systemic oppression, you are the problem
