What about for non-attorneys?

Yes, I asked the partner in charge of CLEs and he approved the cost of the training course and the exam.

I asked and was told no from my BL V20 firm. Two partners said they’d chip in $200.

Yes

Do you have someone in your office/group that you just loathe? They’ve only been on good projects with strong project teams since they’ve started. I’ve gone to them for help in the past via a partners suggestion but came to find out they’ve had their hand held the whole time. How do you get past feeling jealous and annoyed because you work your ass off and are supposedly a top performer but still get put on shit projects with no help? Is it really just time to walk? Been here for 4 years.

I received an offer from a quant fund. My offer letter doesn’t explicitly state my role/position, it is nyc based, and that it’s full time. It also doesn’t provide benefits breakdown, just a blanket statement that I’m eligible. I’ve spoken to the recruiter about these items, but general response is that this is standard for the company. To me this is all very strange and I feel it should be defined more. Does this sound normal to others? Can’t tell if i should push on this more or leave it.

Startup idea I'd like some opinions on: a website that provides users with startup ideas. Apparently IAPP had a webinar this week on hiring in the privacy field. My mentee and a few law students I know all watched and it sounds like a lot of the advice was pretty bad. I wish IAPP would tailor things for attorneys versus compliance, consulting, engineers, etc. I feel like they are doing such a disservice to everyone by trying to cater to all audiences at once.
