Hi fishes, I got interviewed for CGI , CGI Communications Inc, 2nd February- technical round and 7th February- Managerial round. Till now, I didn't get any update from HR team. I tried calling Hr and dropped mails about the status. But she is not picking calls or replying to my mails. I tried calling the the person who setup L1 interview, she told I was not selected. What should I consider now, is my candidature on hold or should I think I got Rejected without any confirmation from HR team.

Read the fine print. In most cases, you are not legally bound to join. But there may be a clause that says you cannot show their offer to another company to negotiate for a higher comp so if you've done that already you're pretty much broken the contract already. Otherwise, no worries, just politely say you cannot join.
Awesome, thanks for helping.
Don't worry. No one will sue you for not joining after accepting offer letter! No company has time to do so.
They are well aware of this practice and that's why they release few more offer letters than actual requirement.
But yes, it's professional world. So you should also have that much courtesy to inform them in advance and not abscond on the doj...
Thank you, I’m feeling better now :)))
Dude, You can reject the offer even a day before the joining date!
It's immoral but not illegal 😄
Yeah! I understand it may be bad on my moral obligations but i think I can repent that later. Career is priority. Thanks for assuring my thoughts.
He can reject but they can internally blacklist ur profile which prevents u fr joining again

Nothing is ilegal thats not on stamp paper.
These days companies also do not onboarding even after releasing offers
No need to worry at all.
Can you pls help me, i have signed on stamp paper as well with offer letter and agreement. What should i do ?
There is clause that candidate cannot show a offer from company X to company Y but I think nowadays most of the folks are sharing offers with other companies which is a contract break. Idk the consequences either.
In today's world everybody is holding 5-6 offers so don't worry about that. Companies negotiate at last moment also to get you on boarded. Just try to be as kind and polite as you can when you reject the offer.

Just a thought - folks are having 5-6 offers and then selecting one out of these. I presume these 5-6 companies are automatically out from your next job hunt? I had rejected an offer from CTS in 2011 and I had applied to them again in 2017 through a very senior person in CTS and my profile was rejected by HR saying that candidate reneged previous offer. So guys, think about it while taking 5-6 offers and then rejecting them outright. You never know when tables will turn and become an employer's market.
Gave an interview of a company Ameyo some months back and after I got selected, they wanted me to sign an agreement that if I don't join them then I will have to pay them 1L.. 😅😅😅
I said NO without a thought .
Got 7L more from new offer within next few days of my NP
I will make sure I don’t sign something like that. Thanks for the info. 😬😬
"legally" there can be many things that the company puts in the wording. But practically very few companies will pursue legal action if you don't honour those terms especially if you are not joining. Got this titbit from a legal team of an MNC via personal relationships. So, most likely nothing will happen but you need to make sure that the company which you are not joining is not a very litigation friendly place
Got it. Will ensure that.
