I’ve gotten people who have given me repeat jobs and referrals gifts. Practice gratitude. Brings more joy to the work :)
Yeah, have gotten 2 gifts from fellow freelancers I referred. I give all my clients year end gifts too. Keep the karma loop flowing
It’s never a bad idea to do something for someone. Doesn’t have to be big, but they’ll appreciate the thoughtfulness
You don’t have to. As long as you thanked him of course. He prob feels good about connecting you to the gig and solving a problem for both parties. You presumably did the job well and now he looks good too.
Just pay it toward and try to be helpful to others in the same situation. Offer recos when you can’t take a gig or if you hear of an opening and know someone who is a good fit.
But if you want to give him a gift because he had a kid, that’s a different thing. Go for it.
It might be more than you need to do but it also helps you be the person they think of when asked for a name. Plus it’s always nice to show appreciation when someone helps you.
Yes I try to make sure people know they’re appreciated when they get me a paying gig. It goes a long way.
