i didn’t. i applied for LOA the day before my PIP was official. went out and came back to position for 3 months until i was laid off. this was likely done to avoid potential lawsuits for firing after an approved medial leave
Original poster, I got your message but I can’t respond for some reason. The person who approved my leave think was through human resources? You basically just have to have the medical documentation that it’s medically necessary. If you have a burner email I can try to help you out

Which firm?
Depends on the state and the firm. When I had an employee on a PIP (in California), it basically went on pause while the employee was out on medical leave… but the employment laws in California are unusually generous to the employee.
